Comparing inspirational poster to final product
Although I
was inspired by the Dark Circles poster, I ensured that my own poster had a
distinct style which I emphasized by using a different colour scheme as well as
camera shot. This is evident as the Dark Circles poster used a dutch tilt shot
of an eye with a colour scheme of black and grey which is seen to be a typical
convention of psychological thrillers. Whereas, my film poster contained an
extreme close up of a female eye which is identified through the long eyelashes
as well as an eyeline match. Perhaps, creating a sense of identity and
therefore toying with the emotions of the audience, emphasizing my creative
decision making. Also, unlike the Dark Circles poster, my film poster had a
colour scheme of red and black which made it quite similar to a bloodshot, perhaps
connoting death and violence.
Moreover,
unlike the Dark Circles which had a super imposed image of a haunted house
within the eye, my film poster had a school within the eye. This therefore
highlighted my creativity due to the fact that haunted houses are seen to be
more of a repertoire of element of psychological thrillers compared to schools,
making my poster quite unusual and different.
