The movie trailer "Mother" conforms to the typical conventions of a psychological horror movie. This idea is reinforced through the setting of the trailer, as it is set in a big house which is typical of films with this genre. This is because it creates a sense of realism for the audience, as it allows them to be able to relate to the normal setting of the film. This therefore increases fear, as the audience may picture themselves in the position of the victims. Asides from this, normal people are used in the trailer, which again allows the audience to relate to the film and draws them in. This links to the personal identity strand of Blumler and Katz Uses and Gratifcation Theory, as the audience is able to personally identify with the characters as well as the setting which develops a relationship between them. In order to complete my A2 project, I (middle) will be working with Kimberley Espinosa (right) and Jayden Balaquidan (left). We have all been allocated certain roles which we decided together. I have decided to take on the role of being the director, Kimberley will be the producer and Jayden will be the photography director. This is because we all have different skills and abilities which are linked with the different roles we are taking on board. We decided that Kim will be the producer because she is the most organised and will be able to organise the cast and crew members. As well as this, she is also very independent and proactive, meaning that she will be able to effectively handle and control situations. Jayden on the other hand is very creative with a good eye for detail, as he pays close attention to detail.
